Michigan State University Museum’s Great Lakes Folk Festival is getting new leadership for its music programs.  Molly McBride will be taking over the reins from Patrick Power as of November 1, 2017.  Pat, formerly of Lansing, has been a mainstay of the festival since 2002 and has done a wonderful job of bringing traditional musicians to the festival stages. He now lives in San Francisco where he is pursuing his photography career. Molly is a talented fiddler with a masters in folklore and ethnomusicology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has been working for the MSU Museum for the last few years as a folklife fieldwork coordinator, part-time archivist, and as coordinator of the festival’s music jams.
